A new, exclusive FUBU collection is hitting SNIPES stores in Europe – and brings back all the Y2K vibes we were waiting for.
Cologne, 28th of November 2022. Four friends with the vision of creating sportswear made by the people who actually wore it – that’s how Daymond John, Keith C. Perrin, J. Alexander Martin and Carlton E. Brown brought FUBU to life. For us by us. Sportswear that was one of the first in the Y2K movement, but still is a main player in todays’ hip hop universe.
Talking about Y2K – what is it, that this time period is so influential for fashion today? From the Y2K bug in 1999 to the launch of Bretz dolls in 2001, there are plenty of nostalgic influences that are still present today. With the turn of the years, a lot has changed: music, films, decor and especially fashion. It stands for change, looking into the future and opening a new decade with experimental designs and statement styles. And that vibe is back right now, more than 20 years later.
If the 2000s were famous for one fashion choice, it would be the velour tracksuit. And that’s where FUBU comes into play. With the first collections consisting of hats and tops like the iconic FUBU football jersey only, the brand is back combining the nostalgic with the new: Beanies in multiple colors, oversized college jackets, leathery baseball shirts and velvet flared pants make you turn on “Hot in Herre” right away. The new collection gives you all the early 00’s vibes! With nine pieces for women and nine pieces for men, FUBU stocks you with the hottest gear for Autumn. But the brand is keeping it classy: black, brown and beige tones dominate the new drop, some blue and red accents come on top.
